A leading design-driven architecture practice is seeking a Senior Job Captain to join its San Diego studio. The role offers the opportunity to take a key leadership position on complex, high-profile projects while working closely with Principals, Project Managers, designers, consultants, and junior staff. The ideal candidate will be highly technical, confident managing documentation and multidisciplinary coordination, and interested in contributing to both project delivery and team development.
Responsibilities:
• Lead technical development and documentation across multiple medium to large-scale projects
• Coordinate multidisciplinary consultant teams through design development and construction documentation
• Oversee junior staff and delegate project responsibilities
• Manage CDs, specifications, detailing, permitting, and construction administration
• Assist with proposals, budgets, schedules, work plans, and bidding
• Coordinate with clients, government agencies, and project stakeholders
• Support QA/QC, code compliance, and technical problem-solving
Requirements:
• 10+ years of architectural experience, including 5+ years as a Job Captain
• Strong technical documentation, detailing, and construction administration experience
• Excellent understanding of California building codes and permitting
• Experience coordinating structural, MEP, civil, landscape, and other consultants
• Strong Revit, AutoCAD, SketchUp/Rhino, and rendering skills
• Architecture degree required
• LEED AP preferred
