We're recruiting on behalf of a highly respected, design-led AJ100 practice with an outstanding reputation for delivering complex, award-winning projects across the workplace, mixed-use, residential, hospitality and industrial sectors. Known for its technical excellence, collaborative culture and commitment to sustainability, the practice is currently seeking an experienced Project Architect / Project Lead to oversee the delivery of a prestigious commercial redevelopment in the heart of London.
The project involves the refurbishment and enhancement of a prominent listed building in Central London including the addition of a rooftop pavilion, premium amenity spaces, interior design and Cat A fit-out for a major institutional client. This is an excellent opportunity for a confident job runner looking to take ownership of a high-profile scheme from design through to delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the delivery of a flagship commercial retrofit project through all RIBA stages (0-6)
- Act as the primary point of contact for the client and wider consultant team
- Manage project programmes, resources and design team coordination
- Develop and oversee design and technical solutions from concept through construction
- Coordinate planning, heritage, technical and construction packages
- Ensure compliance with Building Regulations, planning requirements and listed building constraints
- Support Principal Designer duties and project risk management processes
- Mentor and lead junior team members throughout the project lifecycle
Skills & Expertise
- ARB-registered Architect with a minimum of 5 years' post-qualification UK experience
- Proven project-running experience with responsibility for programme, design and delivery
- Strong commercial sector experience, ideally on refurbishment and retrofit projects
- Excellent client-facing, communication and leadership skills
- Proficiency in Revit and experience working across all RIBA stages
- Strong technical and organisational capabilities
- Experience supporting or undertaking Principal Designer duties
- Listed building and heritage project experience would be highly advantageous
