An established and highly respected architectural practice in Cheshire is seeking a talented Architect with several years' post-qualification experience to join its close-knit team. Specialising in the education sector, the practice delivers beautifully crafted projects for prestigious independent schools across the UK and internationally, ranging from new teaching facilities and boarding houses to theatres, sports buildings and heritage refurbishments.
This is an excellent opportunity for an Architect looking to take ownership of projects from inception through to completion within a supportive, collaborative environment. You'll work closely with clients, consultants and contractors, taking responsibility for project delivery across all RIBA stages while contributing to high-quality, design-led architecture.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead projects through all RIBA work stages, from concept design to completion.
- Manage traditional building contracts, including Contract Administration on projects typically valued around £2 million.
- Develop creative, technically robust design solutions that respond to client and project requirements.
- Coordinate with clients, consultants, contractors and stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
- Prepare and review technical drawing packages and construction information.
- Attend client meetings and undertake regular site inspections across the UK.
- Work on projects within sensitive heritage settings, including Listed Buildings and conservation environments.
- Support the delivery of strategic advice to education sector clients and maintain excellent client relationships.
- Contribute positively to a collaborative studio environment while managing projects with increasing autonomy.
Skills & Experience
- Qualified Architect with several years' post-Part III professional experience.
- Proven experience delivering projects across all RIBA stages.
- Previous Contract Administration experience on traditional procurement projects.
- Strong technical detailing and construction knowledge.
- Excellent communication and client-facing skills.
- Ability to manage projects independently while working collaboratively within a small team.
- A proactive, organised and solutions-focused approach.
- Experience within the education or heritage sectors would be advantageous but is not essential.
