An exciting opportunity has arisen for an ambitious Architect ready to step into an Associate role with a well-established independent architectural practice in Manchester. Renowned for delivering high-quality, design-led projects across a diverse range of sectors, the studio works on everything from commercial and residential developments to heritage, industrial and civic schemes across the UK.
This is an ideal role for someone who enjoys taking ownership of projects, developing long-term client relationships and playing an active role in growing a successful business. You'll lead projects from concept through to completion, mentor a talented team and help win new work, all within a collaborative and commercially minded practice that values innovation, creativity and professional development.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design and delivery of projects across all RIBA stages, from concept through to completion.
- Manage multiple projects across commercial, residential, heritage, industrial and civic sectors.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants and contractors.
- Take responsibility for project programmes, budgets and overall delivery.
- Provide design leadership and technical oversight throughout the project lifecycle.
- Coordinate multidisciplinary consultant teams and ensure high-quality project outcomes.
- Mentor and support junior architects and technicians, helping to develop the wider team.
- Identify and secure new business opportunities, contributing to the continued growth of the practice.
- Prepare fee proposals, attend client presentations and support business development activities.
- Promote a collaborative, client-focused and commercially aware approach across all projects.
Skills & Experience
- ARB-registered Architect with significant post-qualification experience and the ambition to progress into an Associate-level position.
- Proven track record of leading and delivering UK projects across all RIBA work stages.
- Experience across a broad range of sectors, including commercial, residential, heritage, industrial, automotive or civic projects is highly desirable.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to oversee multiple projects simultaneously.
- Confident client-facing professional with excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- Experience mentoring and managing project teams.
- Commercially aware with the ability to generate new business and develop client relationships.
- Excellent technical knowledge and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in industry-standard software, ideally including Revit.
