Key Responsibilities
- Lead the financial management for the studio, including accounts payables, receivables, project invoicing, WIP schedules, and monthly project financial reporting—driving accuracy and efficiency in our financial processes.
- Take ownership of payroll, superannuation, and statutory obligations such as BAS, IAS, and payroll tax, ensuring compliance and timely submissions.
- Maintain precise financial records within Xero, perform regular reconciliations, and generate insightful cash flow and financial reports that support strategic decision-making.
- Partner with the Director to provide seamless executive support—managing schedules, follow-ups, and prioritising tasks to optimise the studio’s daily operations.
- Oversee office administration, foster a positive studio environment, and support HR functions such as onboarding and policy administration.
- Manage business relationships with trusted external providers, ensuring smooth operations and continuous studio performance.
- Provide bookkeeping support for a part-time external practice (approx. 2.5 hours/week), liaising directly for reconciliations, data entry, and BAS preparation.
Skills & Experience
- Proven expertise in end-to-end bookkeeping and financial management, with a keen eye for detail and accuracy.
- Strong understanding of Australian finance compliance, including BAS, superannuation, payroll, and statutory requirements.
- Demonstrated proficiency with Xero and Microsoft Office, with familiarity in practice management software considered advantageous.
- Exceptional organisational skills, personable approach, and an innate ability to anticipate needs and juggle priorities independently.
- Experience in the architecture or design industry preferable
