Opportunity for an architect or graduate passionate about architecture, complex projects and the impact thoughtful design can have on the future of Australia’s built environment.
You’ll work closely with experienced Project Principals, project architects, consultants and stakeholders, gaining exposure to complex Defence projects and best-practice design, planning and delivery. This is an opportunity to develop your skills across all stages of major projects while working within a collaborative, multidisciplinary studio environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Contribute to the planning and design of major Defence projects, with opportunities to work across different project stages
- Assist with spatial planning, design development and the coordination of complex project requirements
- Attend client, user group and stakeholder meetings and contribute to project discussions and design strategies
- Develop design solutions that respond to operational, functional, technical and project requirements
- Support coordination with clients, consultants, contractors and external stakeholders
- Contribute to design development, documentation and the preparation of drawing and presentation packages
- Work collaboratively with the wider project team to resolve design and technical challenges
- Develop your technical, design and project delivery skills across all stages of major projects
- Contribute to a high-quality design process within a leading architectural practice
Skills & Experience
- A Master of Architecture or equivalent qualification
- Experience working on complex architectural projects; Defence experience is highly regarded but not essential
- Strong spatial planning and design skills
- Good knowledge of the NCC/BCA and relevant Australian standards and planning requirements
- Strong Revit skills are essential
- Experience with Rhino, Enscape, Lumion, dRofus or other relevant design and documentation software is highly regarded
- Strong communication, coordination and stakeholder engagement skills
- The ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
- A proactive, curious and solutions-focused approach with a genuine desire to learn and develop
- Australian project experience is highly valued, although international candidates with relevant experience will also be considered
- Eligibility to obtain the Australian Government security clearance required for the role is essential
