Our client, a high-end residential interior design firm, is seeking a Junior Residential Interior Designer to join their team. This role offers the opportunity to support luxury residential projects from concept through installation while collaborating closely with senior designers, vendors, and project stakeholders. The ideal candidate will have a strong design eye, excellent organizational skills, and a passion for high-end residential interiors.
Key Responsibilities
Design & Project Support
- Assist with design development, presentations, material palettes, and furniture plans.
- Source furniture, lighting, fabrics, finishes, artwork, and accessories.
- Prepare drawings, elevations, schedules, and design documentation.
- Support the design of custom furniture, millwork, and bespoke elements.
- Participate in client meetings, site visits, and project installations.
- Maintain organized project files, finish schedules, and material libraries.
Sourcing & Vendor Coordination
- Research and source products aligned with project goals and budgets.
- Coordinate with vendors, showrooms, fabricators, and consultants.
- Request pricing, lead times, samples, and product information.
- Track specifications, selections, and vendor communications.
Procurement & Purchasing Support
- Assist with purchase orders, proposals, and procurement documentation.
- Track orders through production, delivery, and installation.
- Monitor lead times and communicate project updates.
- Support installation logistics and resolve order-related issues as needed.
Project Coordination
- Support project schedules, deadlines, and deliverables.
- Coordinate with architects, contractors, vendors, and consultants.
- Track approvals, samples, quotes, and project action items.
- Assist with site measurements, installations, styling, and project closeout.
Skills & Experience
- 2+ years of professional interior design experience, preferably in high-end residential design.
- Degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or a related field preferred.
- Strong design sensibility and knowledge of furniture, materials, and finishes.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, and Microsoft Office.
- Experience with Studio Designer or similar procurement software is a plus.
- Ability to read and produce floor plans, elevations, and design drawings.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and multitasking skills.
- Detail-oriented, collaborative, and eager to grow within a team environment.
