Jill Romine Interiors is a bi-coastal design firm seeking a talented Mid Junior Interior Designer to support all phases of residential interior design projects. This particular role is for the East Coast and is based in New York City. This is a 1099 contractor position requiring approximately 24–30 hours a week at $40/hr, with potential for full-time employment. This role is hybrid with up to 20% travel required within the tri-state area (primarily NY/NJ). Team meetings will mostly take place online via Zoom, with occasional in-person site visits. THE ROLE The Junior Interior Designer supports the design team through each phase of the project lifecycle, working under the direction of the Senior Designer to help execute the vision from concept through completion. Key Responsibilities - Accompany on site measures, walkthroughs, and site visits - Draft existing conditions, space plans, and furniture layouts in CAD - Assist in developing concept and design moodboards, materials palettes, and project budgets - Source and curate furniture, fixtures, finishes, fabrics, and materials (online and in person) - Assist in producing spec books (lighting, plumbing, materials, appliances) - Assist in developing furniture plans, interior elevations, custom furniture, custom millwork and SketchUp models - Assist the Purchasing team with sample requests, quote requests, proposal creation and purchasing - Assist Senior Designer with client presentations - Support for custom furniture and millwork fabrication, installations, and quality control visits - Supports / oversees furniture deliveries & project installations - Support on photoshoots, as needed
