Position Summary:
The Design Assistant supports the Design Project Managers in the execution of residential design projects. This entry-level role assists with gathering appliance specifications, maintaining accurate project documentation, entering notes into Buildertrend, and supporting overall project organization. This position is ideal for someone beginning a career in design and project coordination who is eager to learn and grow.
Qualifications and Physical Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required; coursework or degree in interior design, drafting, construction, or a related field is a plus
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office or similar programs
- Willingness to learn design software, project management systems, and internal
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to multitask and manage priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Interest in design, cabinetry, or construction
- Ability to sit or stand for extended periods
- Ability to work at a computer and use standard office equipment
- Occasional lifting up to 25 pounds
- Ability to move throughout the office or showroom as needed
- Must have an approved driving record, valid driver’s license, and meet insurability standards.
- Must have an approved background check.
- Must maintain a substance-free working environment.

Role & Responsibilities
- Assist the Design Project Manager with daily project support tasks
- Research and compile appliance specifications and product information
- Enter project notes, updates, and details into Buildertrend
- Help maintain organized and accurate job files
- Support preparation of project documentation and reference materials
- Assist with tracking job details, timelines, and project components
- Coordinate with internal teams as needed to support project flow
- Perform general administrative duties related to design projects
