Position Summary:

The Design Assistant supports the Design Project Managers in the execution of residential design projects. This entry-level role assists with gathering appliance specifications, maintaining accurate project documentation, entering notes into Buildertrend, and supporting overall project organization. This position is ideal for someone beginning a career in design and project coordination who is eager to learn and grow.

Qualifications and Physical Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent required; coursework or degree in interior design, drafting, construction, or a related field is a plus
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office or similar programs
Willingness to learn design software, project management systems, and internal
Good written and verbal communication skills
Ability to multitask and manage priorities in a fast-paced environment
Interest in design, cabinetry, or construction
Ability to sit or stand for extended periods
Ability to work at a computer and use standard office equipment
Occasional lifting up to 25 pounds
Ability to move throughout the office or showroom as needed
Must have an approved driving record, valid driver’s license, and meet insurability standards.
Must have an approved background check.
Must maintain a substance-free working environment.

Role & Responsibilities

Assist the Design Project Manager with daily project support tasks
Research and compile appliance specifications and product information
Enter project notes, updates, and details into Buildertrend
Help maintain organized and accurate job files
Support preparation of project documentation and reference materials
Assist with tracking job details, timelines, and project components
Coordinate with internal teams as needed to support project flow
Perform general administrative duties related to design projects
