You’ll contribute across all project phases while collaborating with clients, consultants, contractors, and multidisciplinary teams on modernizations, renovations, and large-scale public projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead architectural projects and task orders from pre-design and concept development through construction documentation and construction administration.
- Manage multiple projects independently while balancing schedules, priorities, deliverables, and client expectations.
- Develop and present thoughtful initial design concepts tailored to each client’s vision and project requirements.
- Create workplace planning and architectural solutions for federal, civic, institutional, cultural, infrastructure, and commercial office environments.
- Coordinate building systems, sustainability requirements, accessibility standards, and code compliance throughout the design process.
- Prepare detailed, accurate, and well-coordinated construction documentation.
- Collaborate closely with clients, contractors, consultants, vendors, and internal project teams.
- Contribute to feasibility studies, programming, space planning, workplace strategy, furniture specifications, entitlements, and planning approvals.
- Support the modernization, renovation, and rehabilitation of existing and historic buildings.
- Mentor team members while contributing to a collaborative studio culture focused on continued learning and design excellence.
Skills & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Architecture required.
- 5–10 years of professional experience with an architecture or interior design firm.
- Experience with medium to large-scale commercial office, civic, institutional, cultural, infrastructure, federal, or similarly complex projects.
- Federal or public-sector project experience is strongly preferred.
- Experience with workplace planning, historic or existing buildings, modernizations, renovations, or rehabilitations is preferred.
- IDIQ and MATOC project experience is preferred.
- Ability to independently lead multiple projects or task orders while collaborating on larger-scale assignments.
- Experience across architectural phases, including pre-design, concept development, schematic design, design development, construction documentation, and construction administration.
- Strong understanding of building systems, sustainability requirements, accessibility, building codes, construction detailing, materials, and construction types.
- Experience with feasibility studies, programming, space planning, workplace strategy, furniture specifications, entitlements, or planning approvals is desirable.
- Proficiency in Revit required; experience with AutoCAD, InDesign, Photoshop, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft Excel preferred.
- Experience with Microsoft Project is a plus.
- LEED documentation or certification experience is preferred but not required.
- Strong design, analytical, presentation, communication, and relationship-management skills.
- Portfolio demonstrating thoughtful design conceptualization and coordinated construction documentation required.
