Our client is seeking a talented Intermediate Interior Designer to join a collaborative and design-driven studio working across a diverse portfolio of hospitality, high-end residential, mixed-use, and commercial projects throughout the United States and internationally. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to all phases of the design process, from concept development through installation, while working within a highly creative and technically focused team.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and produce design documentation throughout all project phases, including Design Development (DD), Construction Documentation (CD), schedules, specifications, and installation packages.
- Create innovative interior design concepts through a variety of visual communication methods, including hand sketches, 2D drawings, 3D modeling, and presentation materials.
- Contribute to a range of project types, including:
- Luxury residential projects
- Hospitality environments, including restaurants, bars, and hotels
- Mixed-use developments
- Renovation, fit-out, and ground-up construction projects
- Prepare space planning studies and general arrangement drawings that support both design intent and functional requirements.
- Produce detailed interior architectural drawings and custom design details.
- Develop FF&E concepts, specifications, and procurement documentation.
- Select and specify interior finishes, materials, furnishings, fixtures, and equipment.
- Coordinate closely with clients, consultants, vendors, and suppliers throughout the design process.
- Support project budgeting efforts and assist in maintaining alignment between design objectives and project constraints.
- Review shop drawings and vendor submittals to ensure design intent and quality standards are maintained.
Skills & Experience
- 5–8 years of professional experience within an interior design or architecture practice.
- Strong portfolio demonstrating both creative design development and technical project delivery.
- Proven experience working on residential and hospitality projects.
- Strong understanding of construction documentation, detailing, materials, and specifications.
- Experience producing custom FF&E and fixture documentation.
- Excellent space planning and interior architectural design skills.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage confidently with clients, consultants, and internal project teams.
- Proficiency in:
- Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign)
- CAD software (Vectorworks preferred or equivalent platform)
- SketchUp
- Bluebeam
- Specification software such as DesignSpec or similar platforms
- Knowledge of current interior design, furniture, and material trends.
