Key Responsibilities
- Take ownership of residential projects, predominantly alterations and additions within Sydney, guiding them from concept through to completion with minimal supervision.
- Manage all aspects of project delivery, including leading design development, managing site visits, and coordinating documentation, ensuring high-quality standards and client satisfaction.
- Collaborate closely with clients to develop tailored design solutions that reflect their personal needs and aspirations, fostering long-term relationships.
- Oversee project workflows, ensuring adherence to passive house constraints, sustainability standards, and planning regulations.
- Coordinate with external consultants, site visits, and contractors, managing client-site interactions and ensuring smooth project progression.
- Facilitate collaborative design sessions, then independently drive projects forward, demonstrating leadership and strong design sensibility.
Skills and Experience
- 8-12 years proven experience in residential architecture, including alterations, additions, and conservation projects within Sydney.
- Strong proficiency in Revit is essential; experience with other CAD tools and an interest in passive house design are highly desirable.
- Demonstrated success in managing projects independently, from initial concept to site visits and delivery.
- Exceptional client management skills, with a personable and detail-oriented approach, capable of working closely with homeowners.
- Resilient and adaptable, comfortable working in a boutique studio environment with fluctuating project cash flow.
- Experience working with or managing outsourced documentation, with a keen eye for quality control.
- Ability to balance hands-on design involvement with project management and administrative responsibilities.
