voxeljet Americas Inc. is the U.S. subsidiary of ExOne Global Holdings, a global leader in industrial 3D printing systems for sand casting, additive manufacturing, and advanced materials. From our ISO 9001–certified facility in Canton, Michigan, we sell, service, and support voxeljet and ExOne binder jetting systems for customers across North America — and we are now building the U.S. supply chain that will let us assemble, refurbish, and deliver core machine components and aftermarket kits closer to those customers.
This is a build-the-function role and a permanent leadership position. You will be the first dedicated procurement and supplier-quality hire at voxeljet Americas, standing up a function that will scale with a rapidly growing business. The first six months are a sprint — qualifying U.S. contract manufacturers for a defined set of priority components — but the job itself is here to stay: as the U.S. business grows, so will the breadth of suppliers, parts, certifications, and team you own. You will work directly with our Managing Director in Canton, the supply chain leadership at ExOne in Germany, and the investor team at Anzu Partners supporting the business.
What you'll do
The Procurement Manager is responsible for localizing the supply of priority components currently sourced from Europe, qualifying U.S. contract manufacturers, ensuring incoming-quality on shipments received at our Canton warehouse, and keeping our facility compliance posture (ISO 9001 today, ITAR in the future) audit-ready. The role is hands-on and tactical today — you will own the U.S. supplier base end-to-end — and is expected to grow in scope, headcount, and strategic weight as the U.S. business scales.
Supply Chain Localization
- Lead the qualification and onboarding of U.S. (and Mexico, where appropriate) contract manufacturers for priority components currently produced in Europe.
- Drive RFQ processes: package drawings and specs, run competitive bids, evaluate proposals on cost, lead time, capability, and capacity.
- Negotiate pricing, lead times, payment terms, and frame agreements with new and existing suppliers.
- Partner with engineering and supply chain colleagues in the global HQ in Gersthofen, Germany, to translate German technical packages and QMS requirements into U.S.-executable supplier scopes.
- Build a tiered domestic supplier network so voxeljet Americas can respond to customer demand without relying on transatlantic shipments for routine spares and consumables.
Incoming Quality and Warehouse QC
- Own incoming inspection at the Canton warehouse: define the inspection plan for each qualified part, perform or supervise dimensional, visual, and functional checks, and document results.
- Investigate non-conformances, drive corrective and preventive action with suppliers, and maintain supplier scorecards (cost, quality, on-time delivery).
- Manage the receiving-to-stock workflow so that items move quickly and accurately into inventory and out to customers.
Facility Compliance
- Maintain ISO 9001 compliance for the Canton facility — own the procedures, records, internal audit cadence, and external audit readiness for the procurement and incoming-quality scope.
- Lead the facility's preparation for additional certifications as the business requires them, including ITAR registration and compliance work.
- Partner with the Managing Director on broader facility items as needed (EHS basics, vendor-managed services, etc.).
Cross-Functional Coordination
- Represent voxeljet Americas in a working group with ExOne Germany and Anzu Partners.
- Coordinate with U.S. service and sales teams so that supply decisions reflect actual customer demand patterns and aftermarket revenue priorities.
- Provide clear, written status updates: project plans, milestone tracking, supplier qualification dossiers, and monthly performance reviews.
What we're looking for
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering, Business, or a related field — or equivalent hands-on experience.
- 7+ years of procurement, supplier quality, or supply chain experience in a precision manufacturing, industrial equipment, or capital equipment environment.
- Demonstrated track record qualifying contract manufacturers and machine shops in the U.S. — ideally including precision-machined parts, mechanical assemblies, and fabricated components.
- Working knowledge of incoming inspection methods (dimensional metrology, visual inspection, basic functional testing) and the documentation that supports them.
- Practical experience operating inside an ISO 9001 quality system, including supplier qualification records, NCR/CAPA processes, and audit preparation.
- Strong negotiation, written communication, and project management skills — you will be running multiple supplier qualifications in parallel and reporting up to senior stakeholders in two countries.
- Comfortable in a small-team environment where the procurement function is something you are building, not inheriting.
Nice to have
- Experience supporting localization of a supply chain previously sourced from Europe or Asia.
- Familiarity with binder jetting, additive manufacturing, or industrial printing systems.
- Working knowledge of ITAR registration and compliance.
- ASQ CQE / CQA, CPSM, or equivalent certification.
- Experience working across time zones with European parent-company counterparts.
Logistics
- Location: On-site at our Canton, MI facility. Some travel to U.S. supplier sites (typically Midwest and Mexico) and occasional travel to Germany.
- Reports to: Solid line to the Managing Director, voxeljet Americas Inc.; dotted line to Global Supply Chain Lead, ExOne Germany.
- Permanent management role with a clear growth trajectory as the U.S. business scales.
Pay and benefits
- Salary range: $110,000 - $130,000
- Performance bonus
- Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance
- 401(k) plan with company match
- Paid vacation, sick time, and holidays
- The chance to stand up the U.S. supply chain for a global additive manufacturing leader from the ground floor
