Key Responsibilities
- Develop project briefs into considered design solutions aligned with the RIBA Plan of Work, working with a high degree of autonomy
- Contribute to the coordination and delivery of pre-construction information across project stages
- Produce efficient, sustainable and buildable design solutions
- Ensure designs comply with UK regulations, British Standards and relevant Codes of Practice
- Advise on material selection, considering performance, cost, and environmental impact
- Prepare detailed technical specifications using NBS, supported by up-to-date manufacturer information
- Support design development in line with project budgets, including value engineering where required
- Participate in project reviews, coordination meetings and workshops
- Assist in preparing and submitting planning, building regulations and building safety documentation
- Liaise with statutory authorities and contribute to reports and submissions
- Collaborate with clients, consultants, contractors and specialist teams
- Support the management of design risks and maintain accurate project documentation
- Assist during construction stages, including troubleshooting design-related issues
Skills & Experience
- Qualified Architect (RIBA Part III) with ARB registration
- Minimum 3+ years’ post-qualification experience within a UK architectural practice
- Strong technical knowledge, including construction detailing and UK regulatory requirements
- Experience in the education sector (desirable, not essential)
- Commercial awareness and understanding of project delivery within a consultancy environment
- Proficiency in design and visualisation tools such as SketchUp and Adobe Creative Suite
- Working knowledge of Autodesk Revit (BIM experience preferred)
