About Clarity Home Interiors
Clarity Home Interiors is an award-winning and recognized full-service luxury residential interior design firm known for creating timeless, sophisticated, and highly personalized homes. Our work has received multiple industry awards and has been featured in leading design publications.
We work collaboratively with clients, architects, builders, artisans, and trades to create distinctive interiors that balance beauty with livability. Our approach is highly detailed, relationship-driven, and grounded in the belief that exceptional design and exceptional service go hand in hand.
We are seeking an experienced Part-Time Interior Designer to join our collaborative team and contribute to distinctive residential projects from concept through installation. This is an opportunity to work alongside an experienced design team with exceptional furnishings, materials, artisans, vendors, and custom resources while continuing to develop your craft in a hands-on studio environment.
The Role
This is a hands-on design position for someone who combines strong creative instincts with technical accuracy, organization, and thoughtful follow-through.
Working closely with the Principal Designer and Clarity team, you will contribute to space planning, sourcing, design development, drawings and documentation, material selections, site visits, client presentations, and installations.
As a boutique studio, we value designers who enjoy being involved in many aspects of a project. One day may involve developing a floor plan or sourcing materials; another may include visiting a job site, preparing a presentation, reviewing specifications, or helping style an installation.
We are looking for someone who takes genuine pride in the details, works well as part of a team, and understands the level of care required to deliver exceptional residential interiors.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the development of cohesive design concepts, mood boards, floor plans, elevations, material palettes, and presentations.
- Source furnishings, fabrics, lighting, rugs, finishes, plumbing, hardware, accessories, and other project materials.
- Assist with kitchen, bath, millwork, and architectural interior selections as appropriate.
- Prepare and update drawings, specifications, schedules, and project documentation.
- Review dimensions, finishes, clearances, and specifications for accuracy and completeness.
- Participate in site measurements, field visits, construction meetings, and project reviews as needed.
- Assist with reviewing samples, CFAs, strike-offs, custom details, and finish approvals.
- Maintain organized and current project files, drawings, notes, and design documentation.
- Communicate professionally with team members, clients, vendors, workrooms, builders, architects, and trades.
- Support installations, styling, punch lists, and project completion.
- Assist with broader studio and project needs, including samples, presentation preparation, accessories, and installation support.
Qualifications
- Degree in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, Architecture, or a related field preferred.
- Approximately 2–5 years of professional interior design experience.
- Residential or luxury residential design experience strongly preferred.
- Working knowledge of space planning, construction documentation, furnishings, materials, finishes, and specifications.
- Proficiency with Microsoft 365 and Teams.
- Experience with Adobe Creative Suite, SketchUp, rendering software, or similar design tools is a plus.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Exceptional attention to detail and follow-through.
- Ability to manage multiple assignments while maintaining accuracy and meeting deadlines.
- Ability to travel locally to client homes, job sites, showrooms, and installations as needed.
Who You Are
You are creative, but you understand that exceptional design depends on equally exceptional execution. You notice the details, check your work, communicate clearly, and follow through. You are comfortable taking initiative while also knowing when to ask questions or seek direction.
You are collaborative, professional, low-ego, and solutions-oriented. You are a team-oriented professional who enjoys working in a small-firm setting and collaborating closely with colleagues to achieve shared goals. You have a genuine interest in materials, craftsmanship, construction, and the many details required to bring a design vision to life. Most importantly, you care about creating beautiful, livable homes and delivering an exceptional experience for the clients who trust us with them.
Schedule & Flexibility
This part-time position is anticipated to average 12–18 hours per week, generally across two to three working days, with flexibility based on project and studio needs.
The position will begin with an initial 90 day introductory period, allowing both the designer and Clarity Home Interiors to evaluate the fit, working relationship, and expectations of the role.
Regular in-studio and on-site participation will be required initially so the designer can become familiar with our team, projects, systems, and processes.
After the first 90 days, limited work-from-home flexibility may be considered for responsibilities that can be performed effectively off-site. Remote work is an option rather than a guarantee and will depend on project requirements, performance, collaboration, and the needs of the studio.
Some scheduling flexibility is important, as client meetings, site visits, presentations, and installations may occasionally require adjustments to typical working days or hours.
