Patcraft’saward-winning design team is looking for a skilled, curious designer witha strong designsensibility and a passion for color, pattern,textilesand materials.Ourcommercialflooringdesigners are both creative thinkers and product makers.You’llexplore ideas, experiment with color,patternand materials, and take products from early concept through sampling,refinementand commercialization.You’lldesign around realcustomerand market needs while having the freedom to explore how we solve them.With manufacturingclose at handand the resources andexpertiseof Shaw Industries behind us,you’llhave the opportunity to deepen your knowledge of flooring while working closely with Fabrication and Manufacturing.You’llstay close to the development process, seeing your ideas evolve through sampling and refinement into finished commercial flooring.
Thishybrid position is basedat our Create Centre campus in Cartersville, GA, north of the Atlanta metropolitan areaandwill work in the office 3-4 days per week.
Research influences across art, design, textiles, interiors and materials to inform product direction.
Manage the details of product development, including prototyping, color development, production set-up, specifications, timelines and launch deliverables.
Collaborate with Product Launch, Marketing, Brand, Digital, Segment, Manufacturing and Sales teams.
Travel for market research, customer visits, presentations, industryeventsand trade shows. Overnight travel isrequired.
Bachelor’s degree ordegree in Textile Design, Surface Design, Product Design, Industrial Design, or a related design disciplineor equivalent combination of education and professional design experiences.
Experience in textiles, materials, surfacedesignor physical product development is preferred and may include professional, internship or academic project workto suffice.
A strong portfolio demonstrating design thinking and a sophisticated sensibility for color, pattern, texture, material and composition.
