Factioned is a design/build firm focused on interior design, architectural scale manufacturing, industrial design, and private client artwork conceptualization and development. Our projects encompass complete environments, large scale feature installations, custom lighting elements, sculptures, mechanical products, custom furniture, or any number of requests from our clients. We are a group of designers with varying backgrounds including architecture, interior design, industrial design, graphic design, photography, painting and sculpture. Our team has extensive custom fabrication and construction experience giving us the foresight to design executable projects. We simplify the means and methods of custom fabrication to allow a more straightforward design process.
We are seeking an Intermediate interior designer who possesses a minimum of 4-6 years experience (post college) in interior / architectural design and project management. We provide a one-stop shop for our customers, and take on a wide array of projects, from designing small one-off residential fixtures, to developing and executing complete interior environments in multi-family residential buildings, to implementing our designs for art installations, commercial office spaces, showrooms, and pop-ups. You will work directly with clients and be responsible for developing their visual requirements from the concept phase to final project execution. Furthermore, you will use your interior design prowess to assess projects with a strong focus on aesthetic and design features, project management indicators including quality, cost, timing / scheduling, and manufacturability (design/build if developed in-house). Key responsibilities will include a strong intimacy with CAD, client interfacing, project management, quality control, scheduling and meeting deadlines, and interacting with multiple vendors. Problem solving and ability to apply practical judgment are required.
Specific Skills:
4-6 years experience (post college) in interior design, design / build, project management
College degree in Interior Design / Interior Architecture / Design Studies or related design specialty required
CAD capabilities in the following programs – AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite of products (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign), Fusion 360, and Rhino. Additional program knowledge is definitely a plus
Working knowledge of 3D printers and their applications
Mechanical aptitude. Knowledge of fabrication and manufacturing process', along with a comfortability with hand and power tools. Table Saw, Compound Miter Saw, Planer, broad array of hand tools, etc
Previous experience with variety of materials (woods, metals, acrylics) and finishes, as well as experience working with subcontractors and fabrication partners.
Project management experience working across multiple projects and with multiple stakeholders, both internal (ie other team members and subcontractors / partners), as well as external (ie clients, client representatives, third party professional consultants).
Advanced hand sketching and visualization capabilities a must
Attention to detail with persistence and timely follow-through
Organized and capable planner. Must be able to iterate quickly based on feedback, constraints, and testing.
Please note this position is intended to be full-time, however, the first 3months will be on a trail basis.
