We are seeking a collaborative educator with a strong foundation in interior design or interior architecture and specialized expertise in one or more content areas such as materials, computer aided design software (Revit, Sketchup, Enscape), codes and regulations, design expertise in a curricular studio area (commercial, hospitality, education, civic, health care, residential). The position is typically 60% teaching. 30% research and 10% service. This position is located inBrookings, South Dakotaand is a tenure-track, 9-month, full-time, benefits-eligible position.
The School of Designincludes accredited degrees in the visual arts: graphic design, and studio arts and the built environment: architecture, interior design and landscape architecture. Collectively, School faculty form a collaborative teaching and research environment that values cross-program and interdisciplinary initiatives. The successful candidate will contribute to building national and international stature and recognition for the discipline, School and University.

KEYRESPONSIBILITIES:
- Teach courses within the professional curriculum covering disciplinary content such as materials, computer aided design software (Revit, Sketchup, Enscape), codes and regulations, design expertise in a curricular studio area (commercial, hospitality, education, civic, health care, residential).
- Provide service to the discipline, university, and community.
- Teach in multi-disciplinary courses within the school of Design.
- Conduct a research agenda with dissemination of peer reviewed products.

MINIMUMQUALIFICATIONS:
- A PhD in interior design or interior architecture; or a bachelor's or master's degree in interior design or interior architecture AND a PhD in a related field by appointment start date.
- Potential to develop and teach academic coursework in one or more of the disciplinary content areas.
- Potential to conduct research with peer reviewed dissemination of products.
- Effective written communication skills.
- Effective verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
PREFERREDQUALIFICATIONS:
- Evidence of teaching interior design or interior architecture at university level.
- Record of service within the discipline, profession, or cummujnity.
- NCIDQ certification of NAAB licensure.

The Salary for this position is commensurate with qualifications, starting at $68,000.
