A Texas commercial furniture company is seeking an Interior Designer to join its Furniture Design team in Dallas or Austin.
The Design Team’s primary focus is to support and increase sales of furniture systems, casegoods and ancillary products, as well as provide technical expertise to the Architecture and Design (A&D) community and end users.
You'll be responsible for managing multiple projects at once, producing furniture layouts, specifications and presentations, supporting RFP responses and budgets, and identifying potential design or installation issues early on.
The role would suit someone who enjoys the technical side of commercial furniture as much as the design side.
Preferred Skills & Responsibilities
- Manage multiple commercial furniture projects simultaneously and deliver to schedule.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with colleagues, clients, architects, and end users.
- Support the sales team by preparing RFP responses, furniture concepts, layouts, and project budgets.
- Identify potential design, specification, or installation issues before they impact project delivery.
- Work collaboratively with clients and internal teams throughout the project lifecycle.
- Demonstrate strong design, organization, and communication skills.
- Deliver projects from initial furniture concepts through specification, presentation, installation, and final completion.
- Develop and maintain a strong working knowledge of commercial furniture products and participate in ongoing manufacturer training.
Qualifications
- Degree in Interior Design from a CIDA-accredited program.
- Two or more years of professional interior design experience, ideally within commercial interiors or office design.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and AutoCAD.
- Experience with ProjectMatrix, Adobe InDesign, Bluebeam, or SketchUp is advantageous.
- Strong technical, organizational, and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively as part of a collaborative team.
This is a great opportunity for someone looking to build a long-term career in commercial furniture and design, with exposure to a wide range of projects, ongoing manufacturer training, and clear opportunities to develop technically and professionally.
