We are seeking a highly motivated Senior Designer who can confidently take ownership of a project in its entirety — from the earliest creative concept through to final on-site installation. This is a role for a true generalist: someone who is equally comfortable shaping the big-picture design vision and managing the smallest production detail, and who can move fluidly between the creative and logistical sides of the work without missing a beat. Because you will handle every aspect of a project, the ideal candidate is exceptionally organized, resourceful, self-motivated, and adaptable, with strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to tailor each design to the individual needs and desires of our private clients. Production and project-management responsibilities are a core part of this position, so you must have full command of the creative process, thrive at a fast and intense pace, and be able to proactively self-manage to establish and sustain momentum across multiple projects at once. This is an outstanding opportunity to work on meaningful projects for private clients, including communicating and liaising with them directly as a trusted lead on their behalf. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: • Expertise in furniture and object sourcing, both new and custom as well as vintage pieces. • Proficiency in material sourcing, including research & development for varied project requirements. • Strong collaborative skills for coordinating decorative elements with architectural design. • Comprehensive documentation of decorative & finish specifications/schedules, including material details, hardware, & fixtures. • Skillful development of furniture plans. • Experience in custom FF&E design and development. • Budget management, including creation & execution of decorative project budgets. • Proven ability to lead & manage decorative furnishing procurement. • Effective liaison with workrooms to ensure high-quality craftsmanship & detail.
