This is a senior-level, full-time position for an experienced designer who thrives at the intersection of creativity and execution. You will work directly with the Principal Designer to lead projects from concept through installation, managing all phases of design and serving as a key extension of the Principal across both creative and operational execution while maintaining JSD’s standard of excellence. This role requires someone who is equally at home developing a design concept as they are coordinating with contractors on a job site. This is a fast-moving search. RESPONSIBILITIES • Own day-to-day management of multiple active projects across all phases simultaneously • Serve as primary point of contact with clients, vendors, contractors, and artisans • Lead or support client presentations, translating needs into refined design solutions • Manage project timelines, budgets, and deliverables with strong organizational rigor • Lead space planning, FF&E specifications, and finish schedules from concept through completion • Create compelling mood boards, concept decks, and material palettes • Produce detailed CAD drawings, floor plans, elevations, and technical documentation • Review construction documents and shop drawings; attend site visits • Source across a deep network of vintage and contemporary vendors • Work with specialty artisans and custom fabricators on technical requirements
