We are seeking an experienced Architectural Project Manager to join a dynamic, design-driven team in Washington, DC. This role offers the opportunity to lead projects from concept through construction while working alongside a collaborative group of designers and technical professionals.
The ideal candidate is a strong leader who can balance design, technical execution, and client relationships—bringing a proactive, solutions-oriented approach to managing teams, schedules, and project outcomes.
This is a full-time, on-site position based in Washington, DC.
Role and Responsibilities
• Lead projects through all phases, from concept through construction administration.
• Develop and manage project schedules, budgets, and fee structures.
• Oversee project delivery to ensure alignment with scope, schedule, and budget.
• Manage client relationships and proactively anticipate client needs and expectations.
• Lead and mentor project teams, assigning responsibilities and supporting professional growth.
• Facilitate collaboration across internal teams, consultants, and stakeholders.
• Oversee construction phase services, including submittals, RFIs, and clarifications.
• Ensure quality control and QA/QC standards across all project documentation.
• Guide the development of technical solutions and resolve complex design challenges.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary teams to deliver cohesive and well-integrated projects.
• Prepare and deliver client presentations and project updates.
• Support business development efforts and identify new opportunities.
• Drive innovation and continuous improvement across project teams.
• Ensure compliance with codes, regulatory requirements, and industry standards.
Experience and Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree from an NAAB-accredited program or equivalent.
• 10+ years of professional experience; workplace or government project experience preferred.
• Professional architectural registration required.
• Strong experience managing project fees, schedules, and deliverables.
• Thorough understanding of construction documentation and project delivery processes.
• Strong knowledge of building systems, constructability, and code requirements.
• Experience managing consultants, contractors, and multidisciplinary teams.
• High commitment to QA/QC standards and document quality.
• Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Confident presentation and client-facing communication skills.
• Interest in sustainable design preferred.
• Proficiency in industry-standard design and documentation tools.
• Ability to travel as needed.
Salary and Benefits
• Salary range (Washington, DC): $115,000 – $150,000 annually, commensurate with experience.
