Fantastic opportunity for an experienced Studio Manager to join a highly regarded design practice in Perth.
This is a broad role with plenty of variety. You’ll work closely with the Studio Directors and wider team to keep the studio running smoothly, while also getting involved in the financial, commercial and people side of the business.
Your responsibilities will cover everything from day-to-day studio operations and facilities through to project billing, proposals, recruitment, resourcing and compliance. It’s a role for someone who likes knowing what’s going on across a business and enjoys being the person who can bring a bit of order to a busy environment.
This would suit an experienced Studio or Practice Manager, or someone in a senior operations or business support role looking for their next step.
Key Responsibilities:

Manage the day-to-day running of the Perth studio and make sure everything is working as it should.

Provide operational and administrative support to the Studio Directors and wider team.

Look after facilities, suppliers, office requirements, travel and general studio administration.

Coordinate meetings, events, workshops and team activities.

Assist with proposals, tenders, fee submissions, award entries and marketing collateral.

Keep on top of proposal deadlines and coordinate input from project teams.

Support business development activities and maintain client and proposal records.

Assist with project billing, invoicing, forecasting, work-in-progress and other financial reporting.

Monitor timesheets, utilisation and resourcing across the studio.

Maintain contracts, variations, consultant agreements and other commercial documentation.

Help manage compliance, risk, WHS and quality processes.

Coordinate recruitment, onboarding and general people administration.

Support workforce planning, learning and development and other people initiatives.

Build strong relationships with clients, consultants, suppliers and the wider business.

Look for ways to improve systems and processes as the studio grows and evolves.
Skills & Experience:

Experience in a Studio Management, Practice Management, Operations or senior business support role

Ideally, experience working in architecture, design, engineering, consulting or another professional services environment.

Comfortable with financial administration including invoicing, billing, forecasting and reporting.

An understanding of how project-based businesses operate, including resourcing and utilisation.

Experience with proposals, tenders or submissions would be useful.

Highly organised and comfortable juggling multiple priorities.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Experience supporting recruitment, onboarding and general people processes.

Some understanding of contracts, commercial administration and compliance.

Experience using InDesign or similar software would be an advantage.

A good eye for detail and the ability to handle confidential information appropriately.

Someone practical, proactive and comfortable getting stuck into whatever needs doing.
