Stantec’s Sacramento office is seeking a design-focused, client-facing Senior Interior Designer with experience in health sector projects preferred. This Senior-level role is suited for a professional with 8+ years of experience who is passionate about design excellence, collaborative leadership, and working directly with developer clients.
You will play a key role in the design and delivery of health sector projects, contributing to and helping lead design efforts from early concept through construction. Working within Stantec’s integrated architecture and interiors practice, you will collaborate across disciplines while maintaining a strong design voice and an active presence with clients.
We are seeking a Senior interior designer with strong architectural understanding and a holistic approach to residential design, someone who is comfortable thinking across interiors, building design, detailing, and helping form the overall design vision.
This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a design leadership capacity while remaining engaged in the technical and collaborative realities of project delivery. Candidates should balance strong design thinking with an understanding of constructability, project budgets, operations, and the resident experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and contribute to design-driven multifamily projects, including building and unit types, common spaces, amenity areas, and residential interiors
- Participate in and help lead client meetings, presentations, and design workshops
- Develop clear design concepts supported by compelling graphics, drawings, and narratives
- Coordinate closely with project managers, architects, interior designers, and consultants to ensure design intent is carried through all project phases
- Support design quality, technical coordination, and documentation across SD, DD, and CD phases
- Mentor junior staff and contribute to a collaborative, studio-based culture
- Assist with business development efforts, including proposals, interviews, and maintaining client relationships

Pay Transparency: In compliance with pay transparency laws, pay ranges are provided for positions in locations where required. Please note, the final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible. Actual compensation for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on the agreed number of working hours per week.
