Supply Chain & Procurement Manager
Location:Mt. Crawford, VA | On-site, Full-Time
Power Monitors, Inc. (PMI)designs, develops, and manufactures industry-leadingpower quality toolsused by electrical professionals worldwide. For nearly 40 years, we have built every product at our Mt. Crawford, VA facility in the heart of Virginia's beautiful Shenandoah Valley - and we are growing, with two major product launches underway and a manufacturing operation that is scaling to meet demand.
That growth is why we are creating a new leadership role. We are not hiring a buyer to process purchase orders. We are hiring the owner of our supply chain - a member of our management team who will be accountable for materials, suppliers, inventory strategy, and procurement results across the company, reporting directly to our Vice President of Operations.
If you have spent years executing someone else's purchasing system and believe you could design a better one, this is the opportunity to prove it.
Why This Role Exists
PMI Builds precision electronic Instruments in a component market defined by volatile lead times, allocation risk, and engineering-driven substitutions. Supply chain is not a back-office function here. It determines whether production runs and whether product launches ship on schedule.
We have concluded this responsibility belongs at the management table with real authority, not delegated to a clerical role. You will have a direct hand in how PMI stocks, sources, and spends, and your decisions will be visible in company results.
You will also work with modern tools. PMI runs its entire operation on NetSuite - Purchasing, MRP, inventory, and financials - and we use AI extensively across the company, from analytics and live dashboards to daily workflows. You will be expected to put both to work: querying live data, building dashboards that track supplier performance and inventory health in real time, automating routine purchasing tasks, and using AI to find the patters in usage, lead times, and supplier performance that a spreadsheet alone would miss.
What You'll Own
- The entire procurement function: strategy, policy, execution, and results
- Supplier relationships and negotiations for electronic components, mechanical parts, and MRO - including cost, quality, delivery, and risk decisions
- Inventory strategy: stocking levels, safety stock, reorder logic, and the balance between cash tied up in inventory and production continuity
- MRP discipline in NetSuite - and the redesign of planning workflows, with AI-assisted analysis and automation, where the current system falls short
- Material readiness for new product introductions, working directly with engineering on sourcing, substitutions, and launch ramps
- Supply chain metrics and AI-powered dashboards reported to the management team: on-time delivery, inventory accuracy, PPV, and lead-time risk
- The future shape of the department - As PMI grows, you will define and hire the team beneath you.
What You'll Bring
- 5+ years in procurement, materials management, or supply chain within manufacturing-electronics manufacturing strongly preferred
- A track record of improving a purchasing or inventory operation, not just running one
- Fluency in ERP/MRP systems-NetSuite is our company-wide platform-and strong analytical skills in Excel.
- Curiosity about AI tools, or hands-on experience using them; we use AI extensively and will expect you to as well.
- Negotiation experience and the judgement to balance cost, quality, timing, and risk
- The temperament of an owner: you investigate root causes, prevent problems before they occur, and finish what you start
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience; CPIM, CSCP, or CPSM certification a plus
