Accountabilities:
As a Procurement Manager, you will oversee procurement operations, lead a team of procurement professionals, and drive improvements across purchasing workflows and vendor management processes. You will play a key role in establishing scalable practices, improving operational efficiency, and strengthening vendor governance.
- Manage and develop the procurement team, including workload planning, coaching, performance management, and professional development.
- Translate procurement strategy into actionable team priorities, processes, and daily execution plans.
- Oversee procurement workflows, including purchase order processes and operational execution through existing systems.
- Evaluate and improve procurement technology solutions, including potential system integrations, upgrades, or adoption of new procurement platforms.
- Drive process documentation, standardization, and continuous improvement across procurement operations.
- Act as an escalation point for procurement challenges, removing blockers and ensuring effective issue resolution.
- Track and report procurement metrics, team performance, and process health to leadership.
- Own vendor management activities as a dedicated function, including vendor relationships, lifecycle management, and risk oversight.
- Build and implement vendor review processes covering onboarding, risk assessment, renewals, and offboarding.
- Partner with Information Security and Legal teams to establish risk-based vendor evaluation processes.
- Define review criteria and escalation paths based on vendor risk factors, including data access, spend levels, and contract requirements.
- Support the development of enterprise-grade procurement practices aligned with business growth and operational needs.
Requirements:
The ideal candidate is an experienced procurement leader with strong expertise in sourcing, vendor management, and operational improvement. You should have proven experience managing teams, building scalable processes, and collaborating across multiple business functions to deliver effective procurement solutions.
- 5+ years of experience in procurement, strategic sourcing, vendor management, or related operations roles.
- 2+ years of experience managing and developing teams.
- Demonstrated experience building or improving vendor review and risk management processes, ideally in partnership with Information Security and Legal teams.
- Strong experience driving process improvements, documentation, and operational efficiency initiatives.
- Ability to translate strategic goals into clear execution plans and measurable team outcomes.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills across Finance, IT, Legal, Security, and vendor-facing teams.
- Experience evaluating or implementing procurement systems, including tooling assessments, migrations, or build-versus-buy decisions.
- Experience with IT or technology vendor procurement is preferred.
- Knowledge of risk-based vendor review frameworks and governance models is a plus.
- Experience supporting compliance, audit, or vendor risk requirements such as SOC 2 is preferred.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
