Canberra based Business Development Manager
A leading supplier of high-end designer furniture for the residential and commercial sectors is seeking a motivated Business Development Manager to lead their new ACT trade office and showroom.
This role requires a strong network within the design and architecture sectors, strategic thinking, and a passion for design. This is a critical role responsible for driving sales growth and managing key relationships.
The ideal candidate for this role will possess a relationship focused attitude and natural ability to influence.
Experience working within luxury or high-end design or interiors is highly regarded.
Key Responsibilities- Identify, pursue, and convert new business opportunities within the target markets
- Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with design studios, architects, and end-users
- Contribute to and execute a local sales strategy to achieve revenue and growth objectives
- Prepare and present client presentations and effectively represent the brand and the product offering
- Provide exceptional client service, ensuring a seamless project experience from concept to delivery.
- Act as a brand ambassador at industry events, exhibitions, and networking functions.
- Manage an existing customer portfolio for high satisfaction and repeat business
- Coordinate with internal teams (logistics, operations) for smooth project delivery
- Report on market trends, competitor activity, and customer insights
- Maintain accurate records of all interactions and sales forecasts in the CRM system
Skills and Experience- Previous experience in a business development or account management role within the interior design or architecture sector
- Proven ability to develop trusted relationships with clients with a consultative and design-led approach
- Track record of excellent customer service
- Demonstrated ability to resolve problems and make practical decisions autonomously
- Strong commercial acumen and understanding of both private and public sectors
- Exceptional presentation and strong written and verbal communication
- Effective self-management and ability to prioritise tasks without direction
