MajorDuties

Interpret and coordinate the requirements for buildings in design, including design criteria, space requirements, security and communications, international building code, accessibility and sustainability, tenant and host nation requirements.
Review Post requests for minor construction and improvements projects and ensures that staff make recommendations and drawings as required to provide for the quality and technical integrity of such projects.
Collaborate with higher-level officials in management discussions, decisions, and policy making over the broad range of requirements, and in the development of both short- and long-range policies and plans, goals, and objectives.
Manage the preparation and negotiation of A/E support service contracts and the administration of such contracts, including advising on approval of payments for services.
Review architectural and engineering (A/E) contract documents at all major stages for planning and functional requirements, maintainability, durability, and constructability.

Skill in leading cross-functional teams. Ability to interpret and apply working drawings, design specifications, and familiarity with construction standards. Knowledge of principles of budgeting, contracting, work, scheduling, procurement and associated skills involved in project planning and supervision. Skill in preparing and administering A/E (Architecture/Engineer) support contracts. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
